#1 CS:GO update for 4/22/19 (1.36.8.8) in CSGO General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[ MISC ]
– Enabled D3D9EX mode by default.
— If you encounter graphics problems with this feature, please send an email to [email protected] with the subject “D3D9EX”
— Customers who experience problems can also disable it with -disable_d3d9ex command line option.
– Fixed a bug with flashbangs that were infinitely purchasable in Competitive Matchmaking – now all grenade types have buy limits matching their carry limits, and grenades carried over from the previous round count towards the buy limit.
– Fixed a bug where name of invited friend was not showing in party chat when they join.
– Fixed a bug when all items but the currently equipped item were removed from shuffle.
– Fixed several shuffle bugs related to weapons sharing a loadout slot.
– Fixed a bug that sometimes showed default knife in spectator UI.
– Localization fixes for Turkish language.

Rumor has it:

- Despite today being Easter Monday, we don't have any Easter chickens this year

- The EZ4ENCE Music Kit can no longer be directly purchased, you'll now have to wait for it to appear in your coupons: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-CSGO/commit/704d0d0b4fab530fbab30960088a07db941bdefb

#9 TF2 UPDATE FOR 04/17/19 in TF2 General Discussion
yttriumwickedplayer494Yesterday was all sorts of chaos
ok hol up I wasn't criticizing you, and I'm sorry you went through all that shit, that sucks man. I was bringing up the fact that the TF team patched the game and only sent out an email to hlds_announce half an hour later, when normally they send the email roughly an hour before.

Oh no it's all fine, I just felt like sharing that story for the fun of it. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.

#4 TF2 UPDATE FOR 04/17/19 in TF2 General Discussion
yttriumWicked hasn't put out a post because there wasn't an hlds-announce email. Again.

Yesterday was all sorts of chaos, Nexus 6 was at 0%, and some jackass caused some crashes including a vehicle rollover at Main and James which (somehow) forced the cops to shut down all of northbound Main for a good chunk of time. Didn't even let any buses through, they just kept them there shit out of luck stuck in the curb while reroute instructions were being handed out for those further behind to dodge the mess. They didn't even turn two of the southbound lanes into contraflow either even though it was pretty much all contained to the curb lane and a parking lot. Gave up, walked all the way to Portage and Main (and then underground a bit to get on the proper side - thanks a lot plebiscite voters) to get the one bus that goes across the river at Provencher instead.

Fun story: some guy's wife was attempting to cross the street on the Portage East side and he reached out and rescued her from getting hit by a car that had zero room to slow down (there was still a bit of distance but had he not held her it coulda been bad). I wonder how they voted in October. At the very least it was a refreshing display of faith in humanity.

Winnipeg food recommendation: to my surprise, my Bodegoes stuff was still rather warm throughout most of this ordeal. If Ai-Kon or something else manages to bring you here (or maybe the Stanley Cup Final if we make it that far providing we don't get Tampa Bayed), go check it out.

I really need a Pixel 2 XL.

#1 TF2 update for 4/16/19 (4/17/19 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion

Via HLDS:

Valve- Fixed an issue causing matchmaking to fail for many users due to Steam network changes
- Updated the localization files

Rumor has it:

- Aside from localization (made possible in part by contributions from Translators Like You - Thank You), this is pretty much a glorified local sync of recent Steam Datagram system configuration changes to address that issue

– Fixed player disconnect messages to have neutral names when communication preference is set to sanitize player names.
– Added “consecutive_round_losses” value for each team to Game State Integration output.

Rumor has it:

- In case pinching yourself wasn't enough to convince you that this wasn't just a "REAL" update joke, the proof of Vertigo being placed into Active Duty is in the pudding

- In case the concept of Active Duty and Reserves is foreign to you: Active Duty is the map pool that's played in many tournaments, including Valve-sponsored major tournaments, and anything else not in Active Duty is placed in the Reserves pool
- Have fun, pros?

- Want to check out the Feral Predators sticker capsule's contents? CS:GO Stash has it and its stickers up for viewing

- You can also preview the EZ4ENCE music kit on CS:GO Stash too

- Although GameTracking is currently shot to hell so I can't show you right now (will be several hours before that's able to happen), the "Sketchek's Bequest" part of The Axtinguisher's speed boost on killing blows buff has been removed after the controversy that erupted when a new upload occurred (the buff itself remains though, to avoid any confusion)

- This update brings an end to a record long drought of 63 days without any update. The last update prior to this one was on 1/22/19

#1 CS:GO update for 3/19/19 (3/20/19 UTC, 1.36.8.3) in CSGO General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[GAMEPLAY]
– Added a scoreboard element to indicate loss bonus for each team in Competitive and Wingman game modes.

– Fixed an issue causing black screen for users with integrated Intel GPU running with -d3d9ex launch option.

-Smoothed out player collision on metal stairs in T spawn and B site
-Updated soundscapes
-Moved generator in T spawn up to second floor
-Made it slightly easier to throw grenades out of ceiling in T corridor to mid
-Minor tweaks and fixes

Rumor has it:

- Vertigo has been added to the Reserves pool, different from the Active Duty pool that's used in tournaments. It'll still be selected as part of your matchmaking search settings the next time you start the game nonetheless

- This update is pretty light otherwise, there's a local sync of recent Steam Datagram system configuration changes and a healthy dose of localization file updates, which are made possible in part by contributions from Translators Like You - Thank You

- Not a part of this update, but do you use the in-game radio commands? Do you have an idea for a radio command you really wish existed but it doesn't? Matt Wood wants to hear from you about how you use radio commands and new ones you wish were in the game

#1 CS:GO update for 3/13/19 (3/14/19 UTC, 1.36.8.2) in CSGO General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[GAMEPLAY]
Adjusted round loss bonuses with the goal of reducing a negative feedback loop following streaks of losses.
– Round loss bonuses are now based on the count of a team’s round losses. The count increases by one after every loss, and decreases by one after every win (minimum 0).
— With 0 Losses: $1400
— With 1 Loss: $1900
— With 2 Losses: $2400
— With 3 Losses: $2900
— With 4+ Losses: $3400
– Previously, a win would reset the round loss bonus. Now, a win reduces the loss counter by one.
– Teams still begin the half with a loss count of 1.
– This is enabled by default and can be controlled using the mp_consecutive_loss_aversion server setting.
– The round loss bonus is still limited to mp_consecutive_loss_max multiplied by cash_team_winner_bonus_consecutive_rounds.

– Added flashbang assists for players who successfully flash an enemy which then gets killed by another player. Players who threw the flashbang will get an assist callout in the death notice. However if another player inflicted >40 damage to the victim for the assist, the flashbang assist player will not get the callout.

– AUG
— Now that players have had an opportunity to learn to love the AUG, returning the weapon to its original price of $3300.
– M4A1-S
— The M4A1-S now holds 25 bullets in the magazine, and has 75 in reserve.
– Shotguns
— Price reduction for some shotguns: Nova ($1050), Sawed-Off ($1100), Mag7 ($1300).
— Nova penetration increased to 1.
— Sawed-Off range increased to 1400.
— Single shell shotguns in the middle of their reload sequence will no longer automatically continue to reload after a player holsters and deploys them.
– Fixed a bug that prevented C4 or enemies seen through open doors from showing up on the radar.
– Fixed a rare bug where a C4 bomb reset trigger could reset the bomb to a position that was not on the ground.

[PRISMA CASE]
– Introducing the Prisma Case, featuring 17 community-designed weapon finishes, and the Horizon Knives in Chroma finishes as rare special items.

[ MISC ]
– New Loadout Shuffle feature is available in the inventory. Choose to shuffle any number of your weapons or music kits and a random one will be equipped each map.
– Several fixes for the ‘Clean Names’ communication setting.
– Renamed workshop workbench setting to ‘Side View’.
– Removed visual artifacts on a few image assets.

[ MAPS ]

Canals:
– reduced number of routes around bombsite B
– moved bombsite B inside the palace
– added a door from center stairs to courtyard platform
– made it possible to jump up to B bridge from scaffold
– new radar map style

Vertigo:
– Thank you to all the diligent players that continued testing Bombsite B
– Blocked runboost from T spawn to Bombsite B (will still be possible in B site configuration)
– Obstructed boost from top of floodlight in back of A
– Changed layout of back of A site, made entrance onto site a regular doorway, added half-wall in front of scaffolding
– Added usable door in mid towards bombsite B
– Simplified collision model of support jack
– Fixed unintended boost on scaffolding on A ramp
– Made boostable concrete mold by A site slightly larger
– Improved clipping inside elevator shaft

Community maps:
– Updated radar for Abbey and Biome

Rumor has it:

- Here are descriptions and flavor text for Prisma Case items:

- M4A4 Emperor: "It has been custom painted using the Emperor tarot card as inspiration. Lead with your head, even if it means ignoring your heart"
- AUG Momentum: "It has been custom painted with bright colors and forward facing arrows. Always moving forward"
- MP5-SD Gauss: "It has been custom painted to look like it was assembled from pieces of stamped steel. Lovingly referred to as the "SpaceGat 2000" "

- UMP-45 Moonrise: "A randomized city landscape in the foreground gives way to a full moon and purple-red night sky. Look for the North Star"

- CS:GO Stash is working on getting Prisma Case items up on their side as well

- /u/SlothSquadron has said that due to the detail Valve already gave for weapon stat changes, he'll be abstaining from doing a write-up on this one

- Script updates, localization file updates (made possible in part by contributions from Translators Like You - Thank You), new strings, and more: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-CSGO/commit/e51e54fc6d2d12a5e42502bfbba0a2cd8ee95825

Rumor has it:

- IEM Katowice 2019 items have finally gone off sale, over 8 days after the conclusion of the final

https://i.imgur.com/gstt5Ay.png

- The in-game major championship trophies have been fixed, the IEM Katowice 2019 part is no longer cut off at the top, and the inspection view has been moved up a bit so that it's no longer obscured by the description

- Distribution to pro players hasn't happened yet but it should within a short while!
