#127 Sketchek is back? in TF2 General Discussion

I think that's all there is to it. He seems genuine in his apology, and he appeared to have grown in a good way from the whole thing. Now everyone can have their own response to that, and I would understand that for some people what he did was just too much to forgive.

#8 SVIFT rises again as Season 32 looms over in News

Alright I'll give you my terrible secret : I despise brits in all their forms and I lump them all together under the UK flag.

The real reason is both me forgetting how to do the flags that are not UK, and the fact that once 4 players are from the same nation, the team gets that nation's flag (hence the Union Jack in front of SVIFT) and I don't really know how that would works with countries that are a part of the same nation.

#4 Quasar look forward to starring in Premiership in News

Standard procedure is to have the ETF2L nicks in the articles, but since he has such a big difference in nicks between ETF2L and ESEA I thought I might use his "real" nickname at least once to help NA players recognize him. I'd probably stick to Joey now.

#8 Ideas around the map pool concept in Map Discussion

Yeah I think koth is really boring to play and watch, but everytime I mention that its clear that a lot of people are really enjoying it, so removing anything thats not 5cp isnt an option imo.

OmbrackProbably worth precising that Elacour left because of school commitment, otherwise he would have kept on playing with Ascent.EU.

#509 cp_logjam (5CP) in Map Discussion

I think it's an interesting map with a lot of polish already, and I would not mind playing it in an actual season. I agree with everything Collaide said about mid, and I think second is the best part of the map. The sheer size of the map had me confused a bit, but that's more due to the fact that I never played on it before.
One thing I like to mention is the last point, which I consider to be the weakest part of the map. Now I've seen some of my friends say that they think it's good, but it just feels very cluttered to me. Mainly, the fact that you can push relatively unseen due to line-of-sight blockers like walls, means that when I played it the fight was either a big DM fest around the point (if ubers were equal), or the defending team running away all over the place since both spawn doors are super close to each other, and thus easily camped (if the attacking team had ad). The cramped nature of the last also means that defensive offclasses that are here to waste time (heavy, sentry) are less useful.
But I am a poor open gamer and maybe smarter options just weren't thought of.

#15 koth_ordinance in Map Discussion

The map looks very cool, and is definitely very unique. That said, I did not feel very comfortable playing it and while part of it was due to the fact that it's new, I also agree with all of the points that olgha said above; I'd like to add two things :

-The points caps too slowly in my opinion, and this slowness combined with the fact that it is on low ground means you cannot edge the point to force the holding team to stop you, but rather you have a big fight and you can only cap once the enemy has been killed or driven back to yard.
-Speaking of yard, I feel like the map is way too big. The first yard outside of spawn doesn't really serve a purpose, and in my opinion you could very well remove it. I know that product also has 2 yard areas before the point, but said point is easier to reach. On ordinance, the point's nature requires you to have a much more organized assault, so between that and the size of the map, that's a fair amount of time lost.

I never made maps so I don't know if that is possible, but a big step forward would be to make the building where the point is located bigger, especially its ground floor. Right now floor is really easily spammable, so if you get knocked off you'll probably need to go outside to climb up again.

If the biggest building gets implemented, I'd be curious to see this map played in HL (this would be very chaotic, like the koth variant of steel, but I feel like the many flank routes and hiding spots fits HL really well. I'd also be curious to see a 3cp variant, if you ever find the energy to make a neat last point.
